Oracle’s mission is to help customers navigate the complexities of digital transformation by providing cutting-edge solutions that drive efficiency, security, and business agility. About The Role We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Building Automation and Operational Technology (OT) Support Engineer to join our team at Oracle. In this individual contributor role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Site Operations, Design Engineering, Construction, Building Automation, Commissioning, and Reliability to ensure the infrastructure supporting our critical data center operations is reliable, secure, and operationally supportable. Your primary focus will be on analysis, technical execution, and operational partnership to maintain and enhance automation systems integral to our data center environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in building a career in mission-critical infrastructure, controls engineering, and industrial networking. You will be involved in supporting automation system configurations, troubleshooting, system validation, and documentation, contributing to the overall stability and efficiency of our data center operations. The position requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in automation and control systems. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of automation systems, industrial networking, and operational technology environments. A degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, Controls, or a related technical field is preferred; however, relevant experience from internships, co-ops, military training, or academic projects will also be considered. Candidates should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn troubleshooting methods and possess a keen interest in developing expertise in mission-critical data center infrastructure. Additional qualifications include excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within cross-disciplinary teams. Basic knowledge of industrial controls, networking protocols, and automation system components is essential. Certifications or coursework related to major automation platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Ignition, or Niagara are advantageous. Exposure to scripting languages like Python or JavaScript, and awareness of OT cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443 or NIST 800-82, are a plus. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation and OT systems, including BMS, EPMS, PLCs, SCADA/HMI, and associated field devices. You will assist in diagnostics, software and firmware updates, device health reviews, and alarm verification to ensure optimal system performance. Monitoring OT security controls and adhering to cybersecurity procedures related to access, segmentation, and patching will also be part of your role. You will contribute to the development, testing, and troubleshooting of automation logic and control solutions for critical mechanical, electrical, and supporting systems. Supporting commissioning, startup, system validation, and turnover activities for new or modified automation infrastructure will be essential to ensure seamless project execution. Additionally, maintaining accurate documentation—including control logic, network diagrams, device inventories, and configuration records—is vital for operational continuity and compliance. Collaboration with engineering, construction, commissioning, and site operations teams will be necessary to support automation project tasks and resolve connectivity or control faults. Your proactive participation will help improve documentation quality, alarm management, and overall controls reliability, fostering continuous improvement in support processes and operational efficiency.
