About the role

The Automation Engineer at U.S. Bank is responsible for testing, creating, implementing, and supporting robotic process and desktop automations. They perform design, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining, and modifying these automations, often leading investigations and resolving technical issues. They also write documentation and estimate project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain automated test frameworks for various applications and services.
  • Write and execute performance tests to ensure automation meets expected standards.
  • Support high-scale applications and distributed systems, focusing on quality, stability, and release readiness.
  • Participate in feasibility assessments and determine the best approach for automation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven to nine years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic, or automating complex processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin and experience writing maintainable automation code.
  • Expertise in API, integration, regression, and end-to-end test automation.
  • Experience testing SDKs, libraries, and platform components across multiple environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, across mobile clients and backend services.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and release validation processes.

Skills

  • Familiarity with test reporting, logging, monitoring, and quality dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Payments/FinTech industry a plus, but not required.
