About the role
Morris & Dickson is seeking an Automation & Controls Technician to support warehouse automation systems and Coldtainer temperature-controlled equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on conveyors, robotics, sortation systems, and other automated equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Repair or replace components to ensure optimal system performance
- Support system upgrades and improvements in collaboration with engineering and technology teams
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment history
- Inspect and maintain Coldtainer temperature-controlled units used in the distribution center and delivery vehicles
- Troubleshoot electrical components, sensors, switches, and charging systems
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Coverage of Coldtainer units when needed and ensure equipment remains operational
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements
- Ensure all maintenance work meets safety, operational, and quality standards
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience maintaining automated systems, industrial equipment, refrigeration systems, or electrical equipment
- Ability to read technical schematics and equipment manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience using electrical diagnostic tools such as multimeters
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, or automation controls
- Technical certification or vocational training in automation, electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems

Schedule
1st Shift (M-F daytime hours, 7am-5pm)
Pay Range
$26 - $30 USD per hour
