Automation Controls Engineer Mentor, OH | $125k We're looking for a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to lead full-cycle automation projects from concept and design through programming, integration, and on-site commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems, and will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver best-in-class solutions. Responsibilities Lead automation controls projects from design through commissioningDesign and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety systemsProgram and integrate industrial robots including Fanuc, ABB, and Motoman/YaskawaDevelop PLC and HMI applications using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platformsIntegrate machine vision systems for inspection and quality controlDefine controls architecture including I/O layouts, BOMs, industrial networking, and safety systemsSupport panel build reviews, FATs, installations, and site startupsTroubleshoot existing systems and support upgrades and improvementsAssist with controls estimating and proposal development Requirements Experience programming and integrating industrial robotsStrong Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC programming experienceBackground with motion control, servo systems, and VFDsExperience with machine vision systems such as Cognex or KeyenceKnowledge of industrial networks including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and DeviceNetAbility to manage projects and communicate directly with customersWillingness to travel for commissioning and startup activities What's Offered Innovative automation, robotics, and motion control projectsDirect project ownership and customer interactionLong-term growth and advancement opportunitiesCompetitive compensation and benefits package
