Automation Chemist

Please note this is a remote, field position based in the mid-central region of the country (ideal candidate locations are in IL, IN, MI, OH, and WI) and will require travel up to 80%. About the role

Responsibilities
- Prepare, transfer, and execute a variety of different workflows and chemical tests on automated workstations.
- Present innovative workflow solutions during demos and tests with enthusiasm.
- Serve as the go-to person for troubleshooting and application support for customers worldwide (e.g., via HoloLens mixed reality remote assistance).
- Help further develop solutions with innovative ideas.
- Perform installation of automated laboratory solutions at customer sites, user training, and customer support.
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemistry discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of extensive on-site lab work experience involving industry and scientific instrumentation.
- Hands-on working knowledge of networked instrumentation and Windows.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer focus with ability to reliably respond to inquiries, communicate, and interact with scientists at international customer sites, conferences, and exhibitions.
- English fluency with strong oral, reading, written, MS Office, computer, technical data, and networking communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, follow through, and meet deadlines in an entrepreneurial and customer-focused environment.
- Highly positive and supportive team player with active contributions to ongoing success and enthusiasm for combining chemistry with modern laboratory and automation equipment.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete position compliance and training requirements, including attending and actively participating in quarterly scientific technical training programs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., transport equipment and tools in excess of 300 lbs., and maneuver large bulky items.
- Reasonable dexterity to perform manual functions in confined spaces.
- Proven ability to follow safety standards, practices, and codes.
- Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state, with reliable transportation.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
- Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
- Travel up to 80% will be required.
- May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
Pay
The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $78,000 and $110,000. The base salary will depend on education, training, experience, geographic location, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive and benefits.
