Automation Application Engineer (ONSITE M-F)
About the role
The Automation Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical product expertise for product lines the company represents. The role involves working closely with the Sales Team to satisfy customer requirements and ensure successful application of products within the solution provided. Work outside normal business hours is required. Travel is required.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide sales presentations and product training to customers.
- Provide application engineering support and start-up to customers.
- Provide product demonstrations for customers.
- Assist in qualifying the match between customer requirements and product capabilities.
- Recommend components and Suppliers.
- Facilitate the sales process by promoting products to potential and existing customers.
- Help to eliminate sales obstacles through innovative and adaptive approaches.
- Participate in industry functions such as associations, conventions, and trade shows.
- Maintain technical knowledge for supporting product applications in external and in-house training activities.
- Aid Sales Team in reviewing and completing functional specifications for customers.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE/ME) or eight years of related experience in the automation field. ISA Certification (CCST or CAP) a plus.
- Experience: Five years demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
- Knowledge: Knowledgeable of industry standards and practices that apply to control system design and implementation.
- Skills & Abilities: Ensure the use of appropriate standards, policies, and procedures. Ability to work effectively in both an individual and team environment. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and time constraints. Knowledgeable of industry standards and practices that apply to control system design and implementation. Possesses excellent communication skills and customer rapport. Excellent organizational skills and customer rapport. Willingness to take ownership of and resolve challenging technical support issues. Ability to work on multiple and simultaneous projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MS Office software. Understands, follows, and continuously promotes safe work practices.
Physical Demands
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, small products or parts, product books or catalogs. Position also requires long periods of sitting while driving or riding as a passenger in an automobile to customer sites. Ability to effectively communicate using-company issues devices such as laptop, mobile phone, etc. Work outside normal business hours is required. Travel is required.
Work Environment
While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. Work outside normal business hours is required.
