Automation and Controls Technician - Night Shift
Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician for the weekend shift at the Fargo, ND location. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on work with equipment and applying automation skills directly on the plant floor.
About the role
The primary focus of this role will be on automation and automatic controls related troubleshooting, repairs, and day-to-day operational support. A secondary focus includes supporting controls-related equipment improvement and upgrade projects, such as equipment upgrades, program changes, control panel wiring improvements, and creating or updating schematics.
You’ll work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Automation & Controls Technicians, Engineers, and Operations, responding to floor calls, resolving automation and controls issues, and ensuring equipment reliability.
Responsibilities
- Provide troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance support for PLC-controlled automation and control systems
- Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
- Perform timely machine wiring, sensor replacement, and control panel troubleshooting support
- Utilize maintenance systems to document repair requests, track issues, and support preventive maintenance activities
- Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production
Requirements
- Two-year technical degree preferred, such as Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Three or more years of relevant experience with industrial automation or control systems may substitute for a degree
- PLC programming experience or education preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout various department levels
Schedule
Monday - Thursday, 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM
Pay
$29.00–38.00/hour (based on experience) + 20% night shift premium
