Automatics I (S/O) - Screw Machines - 2nd Shift

About the role

Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow and meet standard work requirements.
• Use computer programs to record data, make labels, print tooling layouts, obtain prints and specifications, and print ship-sets.
• Set-up, adjust, and operate Multiple Spindle Automatic Screw Machines on a variety of parts, involving techniques such as setting attachments, turning, threading, recessing, boring, thread rolling, forming, shaving, and reaming.
• Work from blueprints, operation sheets, or specifications to select cutting tools, gears, and cams.
• Check set-ups using precision measuring instruments.
• Make necessary adjustments to produce parts within close limits where finish requirements are difficult to maintain.
• Check parts produced with precision measuring instruments, maintain tool and machine adjustments, and sharpen or reset tools as required.
• Be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Promote positive teamwork and foster professionalism with all associates and internal/external customers.
• Work overtime, including short-notice overtime and weekend coverage, to meet business needs.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of a formal training program, such as V-TIP or equivalent, with a certificate of competency.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating Multiple Spindle Screw Machines (preferred).
