About the Role
The candidate will be responsible for testing customer products using the Automated Optical Inspection machine to ensure they meet all required specifications prior to being released to the next process or shipping.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform automated optical (AOI) inspection of assemblies, including shutdown and start-up.
- Perform equipment non-routine and weekly/monthly preventative maintenance.
- Understand all production processes that relate to inspection; use industry standards and good judgement in determining acceptable standards.
- Read and comprehend documentation, such as customer-supplied drawings, parts lists, etc.
- Act as an authorized agent to stop manufacturing when nonconformances are noted and report any errors or major discrepancies to the group leader and/or management immediately for corrective action.
- Record all AOI daily run information and keep accurate, detailed records.
- Keep rejected product segregated from accepted.
- Assist with visual inspection as needed.
- Ensure compliance with BSU’s Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
- Accept responsibility for continuous on-the-job training by actively participating in training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- AOI and/or inspection of electronic assembly experience preferred.
- Familiarity with electronics components: resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transistors, ICs, etc.
- Ability to read schematics, follow procedures, and apply computer skills to resolve technical problems.
Qualifications
High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, or 2+ years of related work experience.
