About the role

We are seeking a professional to help develop and enhance our Natural Language Generation (NLG) capabilities for sports storytelling and betting. This role focuses on turning our extensive Opta database into readable, engaging narratives in multiple languages, tailored for pre-game previews, live game insights, post-game recaps, and player bios.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine generative AI tools to produce automated, data-driven sports narratives.
• Create pre-game previews in multiple languages to enhance fan experience and ad inventory.
• Generate low-latency live insights during matches, supplementing commentary streams or push notifications.
• Produce post-game recaps using Opta and OptaAI data (e.g., xG) to provide deeper context than traditional summaries.
• Maintain and update dynamic player bios that evolve throughout the season based on game outcomes.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate NLG outputs into media, betting, and fan engagement platforms.

Requirements

• Experience with Natural Language Generation (NLG) or generative AI technologies.
• Proficiency in working with large datasets, particularly in sports data or analytics.
• Ability to develop tools that produce narratives in multiple languages.
• Strong understanding of sports storytelling, betting insights, or fan engagement strategies.
• Familiarity with Opta data or similar sports databases is a plus.
