About This Role
At Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, we provide a supportive work environment where experienced professionals thrive. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for turn-key project delivery, providing technical leadership, managing risks, and traveling as needed. This role requires proficiency in ALC and building automation systems, along with the ability to solve complex automation challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of DDC systems.
- Deliver full software solutions, including sequencing, graphics, and alarms.
- Act as the lead resource and mentor for junior techs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- Partner with Project Managers to manage risk and align execution.
- Carefully coordinate with teams to ensure clear communication and reliable delivery.
- Travel as needed and adapt to shifting priorities, project demands, and field workloads.
- Maintain expert-level documentation, including commissioning logs and progress tracking, to ensure safe and compliant system delivery.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- A valid, current Driver’s License and insurability by the company’s insurance carrier.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
- Proficiency in working over 8 feet above grade and using ladders and motorized lift equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to act as a technical authority and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative field environment.
- Executes turnkey building automation solutions with minimal oversight, focusing on high-quality field execution and resource management.
- Advanced integration and networking skills, including high-level proficiency in integrating diverse platforms and managing complex TCP/IP and wireless networking.
- Advanced diagnostic skills for resolving high-level technical challenges in controls, sensors, and software, at the equipment and system level.
- Dedicated to delivering site-specific technical training to building owners and operators while maintaining clear documentation.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually. Factors affecting pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
