Duties And Responsibilities
- Interpret/define the project scope required from client plans and specifications for inside and outside plant
- Independently obtain project-related information from the Internet, company library texts, and online resources
- Prepare highly detailed work documents, maps, drawings, tables and lists necessary to:
- Apply for and acquire permits by authorities having jurisdiction
- Enable the client to solicit bids for construction of the work
- Enable others to construct the work in compliance with client plans and specs
- Enable the client to operate the inside or outside plant
- Incorporate and practice safety code regulations pertaining to the project work
- Responsibly work with clients, engineers, project managers, contractors, and peers
- Skillfully use Windows OS, Microsoft Office suite, and AutoCAD
Essential Education And Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent two year post-secondary degree in related field or possess equivalent industry-related work experience
- Must be honest, trustworthy, self-motivated, organized and responsible
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willing to travel and work in the field or on-site
Preferred Skills
- Outside plant construction/maintenance, telecommunications or AutoCAD experience
Physical Demands
- The main physical demands of this job include sitting at a desk/computer for long periods of time
- Also, the job may require focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time
Pay And Benefits
- Wage range: $25/hr to $35/hr depending on experience
