AUTOCAD DESIGNER/DRAFTER

Duties And Responsibilities

• Interpret/define the project scope required from client plans and specifications for inside and outside plant
• Independently obtain project-related information from the Internet, company library texts, and online resources
• Prepare highly detailed work documents, maps, drawings, tables and lists necessary to:
• Apply for and acquire permits by authorities having jurisdiction
• Enable the client to solicit bids for construction of the work
• Enable others to construct the work in compliance with client plans and specs
• Enable the client to operate the inside or outside plant
• Incorporate and practice safety code regulations pertaining to the project work
• Responsibly work with clients, engineers, project managers, contractors, and peers
• Skillfully use Windows OS, Microsoft Office suite, and AutoCAD

Essential Education And Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent two year post-secondary degree in related field or possess equivalent industry-related work experience
• Must be honest, trustworthy, self-motivated, organized and responsible
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willing to travel and work in the field or on-site

Preferred Skills

• Outside plant construction/maintenance, telecommunications or AutoCAD experience

Physical Demands

• The main physical demands of this job include sitting at a desk/computer for long periods of time
• Also, the job may require focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time

Pay And Benefits

• Wage range: $25/hr to $35/hr depending on experience
