Auto Repair Assistant - Facilities Services

About the role

Assist with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks by preparing tools and equipment, performing basic service operations, and maintaining a safe, organized workshop environment. Support efficient shop operations while developing hands-on automotive repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
• Perform routine automotive maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
• Repair and replace brake system components to ensure vehicle safety and performance
• Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to verify repairs and proper operation
• Communicate vehicle concerns and recommended repair solutions clearly and professionally to customers
• Maintain accurate service records, including repairs completed and parts utilized
• Stay current on emerging automotive technologies, tools, and repair procedures through ongoing learning and training

Requirements

Education & Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of work experience in auto repair or parts management.

Certifications, Licenses, Or Registration Required: Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Attention to detail and safety awareness. Good communication and customer service skills.
