Role and Team

Reporting to the Mechanical Services Manager or designated manager, the Auto Mechanic performs proper diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles as assigned. They maintain high standards on quality, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities

• A/C & Heater - Operate system, recognize cooling issues, perform basic checks, visually inspect components, identify leaks
• Brakes - Inspect components, visually inspect, identify noises and leaks, perform simple tests, measure lining, drums, rotors, road test, check fluid level, adjust brakes
• Cooling Systems - Check and adjust coolant levels, visually inspect for leaks, make minor repairs, pressure test, flush and refill systems
• Electrical Charging Systems - Inspect/ test batteries, cables, motor, clean connections, check condition of belts, test batteries, check and replace belts, perform basic checks
• Electrical Cranking System - Inspect/ test batteries, cables and motor, clean battery cables, connections and starter, check, charge and replace batteries, repair/replace defective cables, read wiring schematics
• Lighting System and Electrical Accessories - Repair minor wiring problems, replace bulbs, lenses, and simple light assemblies, adjust/replace sealed beams, install/replace accessories
• Drive Axles - Inspect housings for leaks, change oil and filter, clean breathers, lubricate drive line, inspect components for wear or damage
• Gas Engines - Check and adjust oil levels, identify unusual noises and oil leaks, check fuel system components
• Fuel Systems - Replace and prime fuel filter, check gas and diesel fuel system components
• Preventive Maintenance - Proper lube techniques, minimal tire inspection, brake check/applied stroke, battery check, under vehicle check/lose components, initial fault code identification
• Tire and Wheel Maintenance - Perform air pressure checks, check tread depth, identify tires needing replacement or repair, perform tire checks, replace tire and wheel assemblies, mount/dismount and rotate tires
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools
