Auto Mechanic - Gipson's Tire & Auto

About the role

We're looking for an experienced and driven Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our team at Gipson's Tire & Auto. In this role, you'll perform various automotive services, including tire installation and maintenance, steering and suspension, alignments, brakes, engine diagnostic, drivability, and preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance services. You'll be key to ensuring the success of daily operations at your location.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate and timely quality vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Test drives vehicles before and after repairs to ensure functionality and overall safety.
• Performs routine maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid flushes and replacements, belt and hose replacements, battery testing and installation, and general automotive repairs.
• Conducts thorough visual inspections of vehicles and accurately documents any findings.
• Maintains cleanliness and functionality of shop equipment, including servicing portable fluid drains according to shop protocols.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support shop operations and team success.
• Adheres to all safety guidelines and keeps the sales area clean and professional at all times.
• Partners with the Store Manager, Service Advisors, and other team members in the shop to deliver complete customer satisfaction.
• Shows dependability, accountability, adaptability, and an upbeat approach in our busy, collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of automotive systems; experience with PC-based diagnostic tools and/or digital inspections are a plus.
• 3 plus years’ experience in automotive maintenance or repair; must have own tools.
• Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to exceptional service.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods, lift items weighing up to 75 pounds, and perform tasks in an active workshop setting.

Schedule

Flexible hours Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as business needs require.
