AUTO/HARDWARE/FARM Department Head

Essential Functions

• Helping customers with special order requests and locating merchandise.
• Informing customers of product knowledge that may be helpful and greeting every customer within ten feet.
• Verifying proper product rotation and basic stocking of merchandise in multiple departments.
• Maintaining basic knowledge of Farm & Home web-based Intranet and the Outfitter.
• Removing damaged merchandise from the floor as needed.
• Reviewing and correcting outages and overstocks to supply proper inventory levels.
• Following company guidelines for department merchandising and setting store ads and sale signage.
• Identifying and displaying new items at their designated location in department with Management approval.
• Demonstrating strong merchandising presentation skills for in-aisles, end caps, and displays.
• Ensuring a safe and clean work environment, while following loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Completing regular Area Safety checks.
• Attending store and job-related meetings and reviewing the F&H Weekly Update distributed to each store every Monday.
• Professionally communicating with Customers, Management, and all store employees.
• Following all applicable Company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Absorbing and assisting with price changes, markdowns, and labeling of merchandise.
• Operating cash registers and assisting with customer carry-outs.
• Having weightlifting capability up to and including 80 lbs.
• Maintaining an organized stock room area.
• Completing required on-line Job Training available on our Outfitters website.

Responsibilities

• Completing special projects directed by management and additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time.

Experience and Training

• Minimum Age requirement is 18 years old.
• Must possess great customer service and communication skills.
• Six months of previous retail experience is preferred.
• Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members that want to grow.
