Position Summary

The Auto Body Parts Coordinator is responsible for ensuring parts and materials are correct and assigned to the right job assignment and technician, by mirror-matching parts to ensure accuracy. They must keep parts carts in order and order/receive parts as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify parts necessary to complete repairs in the body shop
  • Work with other parts team managers to ensure sales goals and GP% are met
  • Maintain purchase orders to ensure vendors are delivering parts on time
  • Receive parts and inspect for quality and accuracy and mirror match parts
  • Ensure timely distribution to the shop in accordance with the production schedule
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for purchased and/or returned parts
  • Assist EBP and technicians by keeping parts carts organized

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a Body Shop Parts Department a plus
  • Solid problem-solving abilities
  • Above average computer proficiency
  • Ability to keep up and succeed in a fast-paced working environment
  • Knowledge of automotive systems
  • Clean background check, valid drivers license
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and understand it is a priority
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team and fulfill management duties
  • High School graduate or equivalent

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

The position is based in a normal shop environment. Frequent physical activity such as kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity. Must be able to push/pull parts carts and cars with assistance. Working environment consists of: exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise. Dalton Collision enforces the mandatory requirement to wear protective equipment. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
