Auto Body Paint Prepper

About the role

Art City Auto Body is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to support our refinish department. This role is essential to ensuring vehicles are properly prepared for painting and refinishing, helping deliver high-quality repairs and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for paint application by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming
• Remove contaminants and ensure surfaces meet quality standards before painting
• Assist painters with vehicle movement, material preparation, and shop organization
• Perform final cleaning and inspection of vehicles prior to paint application
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

Requirements

• Previous automotive paint preparation experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of sanding, masking, and surface preparation techniques
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
