Autism Paraprofessional - Extensive Support Needs

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in classroom, community-based, and campus activities
• Aiding in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Utilizing evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies
• Collecting behavioral and academic data as directed
• Supporting communication, social-emotional growth, and independent living skills
• Assisting students with daily routines and personal care needs when necessary
• Maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Collaborating closely with Teachers, Behavior Specialists, BCBAs, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• An associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral support needs
• Experience in educational, behavioral health, or human services settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to meet physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, lifting, and supporting students throughout the day
