About the role
The Insurance Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining the initial and continuing authorizations. This position ensures all patient services are verified and authorized.
Responsibilities
- Obtain initial insurance authorization on all new referrals that require pre-authorization
- Develop a positive rapport with staff members, payor representatives and community resources
- Involves in the provision or receipt of home care and hospice services
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Intake Services or Billing Manager
Qualifications
- Medical office and/or home health care experience (preferred)
- Insurance authorizations experience
- Must be customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above average communicator
- Must be organized and be able to multi-task
- Must be able to read, write and maintain records in English
