Austin 20 (Parmer/McNeil) Grocery - Overnight Stocker - Part time
About the role
As a Night Stocker, you’ll join a close-knit team in the Grocery or Drug Store department, supporting each other to meet nightly goals and embracing the overnight work rhythm. You’ll stock a large store footprint, gaining exposure to many products and departments—an experience that can open doors to other roles and long-term career opportunities at H-E-B.
Responsibilities
- Stock shelves and refill displays
- Load, unload, and move heavy or bulky products; may unload trucks
- Condition shelves and products
- Learn and apply product knowledge with attention to detail (e.g., rotation dates, shelf and label info) to meet A+ Standards
- Keep the department clean and well-organized, including the back room and shelves
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leader direction with personal discipline
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations for product food safety and sanitation
- Work efficiently and collaboratively to meet productivity standards
- Accept and apply constructive feedback to improve future tasks; may coach or train other Stockers
- Operate with a team mindset, often working cross-functionally across the store and building relationships with other departments (e.g., Curbside)
- Learn and model customer service and hospitality with customers and Store Partners
- Assist customers in locating products and answering product questions

Qualifications
- Age: 18+
- Preferred: Experience stocking and in customer service
- Experience in a physically demanding job is a plus

Licenses/Certifications
- Forklift and power jack training provided upon hire

- Drugstore: Constantly reach at waist and grasp; frequently stand, walk; occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, or floor; bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements; occasionally exposed to loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions; lift 66 lbs and manage loads in excess of 50 lbs.
- Dairy: Constantly reach at waist and grasp; constantly exposed to cold temperatures; frequently stand, walk, bend; occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, or floor; stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements; occasionally exposed to loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions; lift 86 lbs and manage loads in excess of 100 lbs.
- Frozen: Constantly reach at waist and grasp; constantly exposed to cold temperatures; frequently stand, walk; occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, or floor; bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements; occasionally exposed to loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions; lift 60 lbs and manage loads in excess of 100 lbs.
- General Merchandise: Constantly reach at waist and grasp; frequently stand, walk, bend; occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, or floor; stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, climb ladder, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements; occasionally exposed to loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions; lift 60 lbs and manage loads in excess of 60 lbs.
Definitions: “Constantly” = 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; “Frequently” = 2.5–5.5 hours per 8-hour day; “Occasionally” = 0–2.5 hours per 8-hour day.
