About the role
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District seeks an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist (Speech Therapist - Special Education) to join our dedicated team. This position is responsible for providing assessment, intervention, and support services to students with disabilities who require AAC.
Responsibilities
- Conducting AAC assessments and device trials
- Developing and implementing AAC plans
- Training staff and families on AAC techniques
- Collaborating with IEP teams to ensure appropriate AAC accommodations
- Providing ongoing professional development for educators
Requirements
- Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, communication disorders, special education, assistive technology, or a closely related field
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential
- Experience conducting or supporting AAC assessments, device trials, implementation planning, staff training, and IEP team consultation
- At least three letters of recommendation
- Current resume

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Benefits
Qualified candidates will be offered a competitive salary range of $77,108 - $144,336 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plan options, and paid time off.

Full-time position, 180 days per year
