Auditorium Technician

Location: 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, IA 50010

Part-time, less than 20 hours per week. Non-exempt, non-benefits eligible.

About the role

The City of Ames Parks and Recreation Department seeks Auditorium Technicians to support the Ames City Auditorium, a 881-seat venue hosting concerts, recitals, lectures, meetings, and performing arts events. This part-time, on-call position involves variable shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform opening and closing procedures (unlocking/locking, lights, equipment).
• Complete daily operations and required paperwork (hour logs, incident reports).
• Supervise internal and external groups and activities.
• Enforce auditorium policies, rules, and regulations; educate patrons.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies; ensure a safe environment.
• Inspect the facility daily and report unsafe conditions or equipment.
• Administer first aid, CPR, or use an AED in emergencies.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance as directed.
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
• Maintain current inventory of supplies; notify manager of needs.
• Other duties as assigned by the Auditorium and Bandshell Manager.

Pay

$12.67 - $13.44 hourly
