AUDITORIUM / PERFORMING ARTS CENTER MANAGER AND TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

About the Role

The Auditorium/PAC Manager oversees the management of the Auditorium and Performing Arts Center, coordinating facility usage, event set-up, equipment procurement and repair, budget management, and compliance with governmental regulations. This role involves hands-on technical direction, including sound, lighting, and set design, as well as supervising student technicians and managing event logistics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Activities Director on facility usage, event set-up requests, and budget management.
• Purchase, repair, and manage equipment; verify and submit receipts for processing.
• Oversee and maintain the curtain, sound, and lighting equipment for events.
• Supervise events and provide student technicians with hands-on experience in equipment preparation, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure facility safety and regulatory compliance.
• Research and submit quotes for production supplies and services.
• Hold budget meetings with the Activities Director prior to pre-production meetings.
• Oversee special contractual service providers and manage production paperwork.
• Develop, distribute, and post technical schedules for the crew and Activities Director.
• Design and build production sets, lighting cues, sound, video, and projections.
• Supervise the technical crew during construction, rehearsals, and performances.
• Clean and secure the facility after meetings, workdays, and performances.
• Manage costumes and properties inventory in the mezzanine.
• Submit cast lists/programs to the Thespian sponsor for hour verification.
• Drive, load/unload, and operate a Penske Truck with a lift (no larger than 26').
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Technical Theatre Degree in Design and Technology.

Schedule

12-month, 260-day position.
