Auditor (On-site)

About the role

HEPCO Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Claims Auditor for our client. The selected candidate will review Medicaid-related medical claims according to established procedures, assist providers with billing questions and available resources, maintain tracking records, and provide administrative and operational support. The position is located at 99 Washington Avenue, One Commerce Plaza, Albany, NY 12210.

Responsibilities

• Review medical claims according to established written procedures.
• Identify and escalate complex claims or issues to the appropriate staff.
• Answer incoming calls and direct callers to the appropriate team member or resource.
• Educate providers about billing processes and available resources.
• Maintain databases and tracking records for reporting and follow-up.
• Perform accurate data entry across multiple systems and databases.
• Monitor a shared email mailbox and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• File, organize, and maintain electronic and physical documents.
• Fax, scan, copy, and distribute documents as needed.
• Use standard office equipment and technology to support daily operations.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and service-oriented demeanor.
• Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficiency with standard office technology, including computers, scanners, copiers, telephones, and email systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and manage routine administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and appropriately.

Pay

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Schedule

Monday–Friday: 9am – 5pm; Duration: approximately 24 months.
