About the role
The Auditor III ensures Broward County School District's assets are safeguarded through independent appraisals and audits of accounting, financial, property, inventory, and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Improve department effectiveness by recommending and developing internal auditing policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain and oversee the assigned internal audit program area by reviewing accounting procedures, confirming accounts, inspecting physical operations, and conducting property and inventory audits.
- Oversee the audit of assigned operations, locations, or processes to ensure compliance with policies, plans, and procedures and the reliability of accounting, inventory, and other data.
- Identify irregularities and errors, provide feedback to administrators to improve controls and reduce costs, and prepare audit reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned audit staff, ensuring they meet audit objectives and adhere to best business practices, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support legal actions resulting from audit findings by appearing as a witness or assisting the School Board Attorney’s office in recovering District assets.
- Audit accounting records of contractors where the School District is a party at interest and discuss preliminary recommendations with management personnel.
Requirements
- An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or training in the field related to the title of the position.

- Bilingual skills preferred.

$57,794.00 - $105,032.00
Schedule
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
