Audit Senior Associate

I am looking for an Experienced Audit Associate to join a reputable New Jersey accounting practice. Here, you won't just be a cog in a machine - you will manage engagement lifecycles, lead and mentor junior associates, and act as a trusted advisor to dynamic regional clients. They can offer a true hybrid work structure, manageable busy-season hours, and a clear, transparent track to Audit Manager. What You'll Do:Lead Audit Engagements: Plan, execute, and complete financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations in accordance with US GAAP and GAAS.Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and review the work of staff associates, offering constructive feedback and coaching.Client Engagement: Serve as the primary daily point of contact for client accounting leadership, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and proactive risk resolution.Internal Controls & Testing: Evaluate client accounting systems, internal controls, and operational processes to identify risks and efficiency opportunities.Reporting & Delivery: Draft complex audit reports, management letters, and financial statement disclosures for Partner review. What I'm Looking For:Experience: 2+ years of recent public accounting audit experience (Big 4, national, or regional firm).Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license or active progress toward passing the CPA exam required.Technical Mastery: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, financial reporting, and audit methodologies.Software: Proficiency with modern audit software (e.g., CCH Engagement, CaseWare) and advanced Excel functions.Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset.
