Audit Senior Associate

Location: Manhattan, New YorkLevel: Senior Accountant - Audit (NFP)Base Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 About Them: Are you an experienced Audit Senior looking for your next opportunity with an established New York public accounting firm? My client are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in New York. This is an opportunity to take ownership of multiple audit engagements, work closely with partners and clients, and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and audit services.Expectations of the role: Manage multiple client audit engagements, ensuring projects are delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.Lead and review the work of engagement teams, providing guidance and support to junior staff.Perform detailed audit procedures across business transaction cycles, including cash, treasury, capital expenditure, income and expenses.Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, supporting schedules and client reports.Prepare and review audit workpapers, ensuring appropriate documentation and support for conclusions.Build strong working relationships with client management and key stakeholders.Apply relevant accounting and auditing standards, including FASB and AICPA guidance, with exposure to GAO and GASB standards where applicable.What They're Looking For:5-7 years of audit experience within a small to medium-sized public accounting firm.A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related advanced accounting qualification.CPA qualification is preferred.Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial statement audits.Previous not-for-profit experience is highly desirable.Experience managing engagements, reviewing work and coaching junior team members.Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.Why Consider This Opportunity?You'll have the opportunity to take on responsibility across multiple engagements, develop client relationships and contribute to the development of junior colleagues, while working directly with partners and experienced professionals.📩 Interested in finding out more?
