About the role

The Audit Manager I – U.S. Compliance Audit is responsible for executing and leading audit engagements based on established audit plans in alignment with applicable policies and regulatory guidelines for TD Bank's Governance, Risk & Oversight Functions. The US Consumer Compliance team primarily audits US Consumer Compliance regulations (including but not limited to UDAAP, Fair Lending, TILA, HMDA, RESPA, TISA, etc.).

The Audit Manager I will participate in the planning, execution, and documentation of moderately complex to complex audits/projects to ensure they are aligned with management expectations and executed timely. This role will mentor staff auditors, manage relationships with senior management, and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team focused on assigned audits and assumes the lead position, providing supervision and assignments to team members as Auditor In Charge.
  • Reviews work papers completed by staff and drafts audit reports.
  • Manages time and staffing budgets for upcoming audits.
  • Plans audits and serves as the primary contact with management regarding audit scope, status, and findings.
  • Performs testing procedures for critical areas of audits.
  • Provides on-the-job training for staff and supervises findings follow-up tasks with management and audit staff.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in at least one area of discipline.
  • Works independently but receives assistance/coaching from the audit manager.
  • May serve as Auditor In Charge on an audit and participate in or lead special projects.
  • Provides feedback on staff performance and assists in completing staff evaluations.
  • Updates, revises, and improves existing audit procedures and programs.
  • Adds value through consultative interactions with business line management.
  • Understands and supports the Bank’s Customer Service Strategy, considering the impact of decisions on the Bank, customers, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Leads, coaches, and models quality service delivery at every interaction.
  • Sets appropriate context for the business unit/function to enable optimal performance and alignment to strategy.
  • Supports the creation of goals and objectives for the business unit/function and communicates them to the team.
  • Builds capability to acquire, develop, and retain diverse teams with the skills necessary to realize business strategies.
  • Role models behaviors consistent with TD’s leadership profile, customer and employee experience agendas, and risk and control culture.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 5+ years of related audit experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a former OCC, CFPB, FDIC, FRB, or NCUA compliance examiner.
  • Banking industry audit experience with a focus on Governance, Risk & Oversight of US Consumer Compliance Function.
  • Relevant professional certifications or accounting designations (e.g., CIA, CRCM).
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with risk management and audit tools.

Pay

77,260.00 - 115,900.00 USD

Schedule

40 hours per week
