With over 8,500 people, 130 U.S. locations, and global reach, CLA is seeking an Audit Director/Audit Manager to join our State and Local Government (SLG) practice in the Northeast. The SLG group is one of the fastest-growing practice areas, consisting of 600 professionals serving over 2,100 local, county, and state government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with clients.
  • Assist clients in obtaining necessary funding to positively impact their communities.
  • Help clients meet audit and financial planning objectives using a range of tools.
  • Foster staff development through mentoring and overseeing client engagement teams.
  • Lead engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines.
  • Communicate key developments, facts, conclusions, and recommendations to the engagement principal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm driving strategic management.
  • Experience leading teams of high-performing professionals and managing governmental audits and Single Audits (strongly preferred).
  • CPA license certification is required.

Pay

The compensation range for this position varies by location:

  • Maryland: $116,000.00 - $187,000.00
  • Massachusetts: $112,000.00 - $187,000.00
  • Virginia: $118,000.00 - $187,000.00
