Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing the internal audit department to ensure smooth operation
• Developing and implementing audit plans to assess risk, identify potential issues, and evaluate existing internal control systems
• Preparing and presenting audit findings to senior management, offering recommendations for improvements
• Coordinating with external auditors to ensure a successful and efficient completion of the audit process
• Providing guidance and leadership to junior audit staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards
• Continually developing knowledge regarding sector trends, audit best practices, and changes in local, state, and federal laws to ensure appropriateness of audit process
• Performing ad-hoc audits or reviews as requested by senior management

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, with a proven track record of managing and leading audit teams
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Proficiency in using auditing software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to a variety of audiences
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization and detail
