Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between the partner, the client, and the professional staff
  • Manage multiple auditing and accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously
  • Schedule, staff, and coordinate engagement workflow
  • Develop and train staff
  • Make associations to develop new business for the firm
  • Manage all phases of an audit, compilation, or review engagement
  • Maintain contact with clients throughout the year; possess a thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of client's business
  • Plan, schedule and staff engagements using firm policies and procedures
  • Maintain familiarity with qualifications of all staff members; review staff assignments for appropriateness
  • Prepare engagement letter for approval by partner
  • Evaluate internal controls and work programs prepared by staff
  • Adhere to engagement time budgets
  • Supervise seniors and staff and provide on-the-job training; review work papers and reports prepared by staff
  • Anticipate problem areas of engagement and questions that will arise
  • Keep partner informed of all important developments on engagement; analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • Ensure that financial statements and letters of recommendations are prepared in accordance with professional and firm standards
  • Communicate progress of engagements, problems and resolutions to client
  • Work to develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in performance evaluations
  • Prepare invoices to clients, communicate details of fees to clients, and assist in collection of overdue accounts
  • Possess a complete knowledge of the firm's philosophy and its opinions on financial matters
  • Maintain a knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible legislation that could affect the business climate
  • Assist in recruiting, developing training aids, and act as an instructor in professional development programs
  • Prepare other reports and projects as requested from time to time by the partners
  • Participate in firm's practice development efforts
  • Build client relationships
  • Market, network and develop business
  • Apply knowledge of business functions, processes and strategies
  • Supervise, direct and review the results of the engagement
  • Manage engagement profitability – billings and collections
  • Participate in firm's committees and management meetings
  • Become a part of the firm's Mentoring Program
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related equivalent
  • CPA certification
  • At least six (6) years experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression
  • Minimum of forty hours of continuing education is required each year to maintain and develop technical and business skills, as well as to maintain license requirements
  • Participate in career development program to improve managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 6+ years of experience performing research and providing quality technical advice

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including proven experience liaising with clients
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently and use good judgment

Pay

$135,000 to $160,000
