Audit & Assurance Senior Accountant

About the Role

The A & A Senior Accountant leads audit and assurance engagements, prepares and reviews financial statements, and ensures compliance with professional standards while maintaining strong client relationships. The Senior Accountant plays a central role in planning, executing, and completing audit and assurance engagements, serving as the accountant-in-charge, coordinating work of junior staff, and acting as the primary client contact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit and assurance engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and completion.
• Serve as accountant-in-charge of financial statement engagements.
• Prepare and review engagement work papers, financial statements, and related disclosures for compliance with applicable standards.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff; review their work for accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate with clients and firm leadership to ensure expectations are met and issues are resolved.
• Maintain organized work practices to meet deadlines and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Assist in identifying new business opportunities and strengthening client relationships.
• Ensure engagements comply with firm standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and assurance standards.
• Assist with firm internal quality management or peer review processes as needed.
