About the role
The position exists in the Medical Department and is responsible for coordinating audiological services for individuals at Porterville Developmental Center (PDC).
Responsibilities
- Administer specialized measuring devices and tests for identification of hearing impairment to the developmentally disabled.
- Administer diagnostic tests to identify individuals with hearing impairments and to determine the nature and extent of hearing disorders.
Requirements
- Pass the Audiologist I examination.
Qualifications
- Must be a resident of the State of California at the time of appointment.
- Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.
- Must complete a medical evaluation.
Skills
- Knowledge of audiologic principles and practices.
- Ability to administer diagnostic tests for hearing impairment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
