Essential Duties
- Perform comprehensive audiologic evaluations including pure tone testing, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
- Clinically diagnose hearing and balance disorders and develop appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Fit, program, and manage hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, amplification options, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with ENT providers, primary care providers, speech therapy, rehabilitation services, and other specialists.
- Educate patients regarding hearing conservation, tinnitus management, and hearing aid care.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care for patients requiring additional services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and hospital initiatives.
- Ensure audiology equipment is calibrated and maintained according to regulatory standards.
- Aid in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance goals.
- Maintain compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
- Support clinic workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Participate in community outreach, education, and hearing screening events as requested.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage hearing aid case acceptance and treatment plan conversion.
- Review pricing and financing options with patients.
- Contribute to clinic revenue, margin, and growth goals.
- Support sales of hearing aids, accessories, and assistive devices.
- Help maintain vendor relationships and product knowledge.
Business & Growth Responsibilities
- Support marketing and referral development activities.
- Participate in hearing aid sales and marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree required.
- Current Wyoming state Audiology license required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first year.
- Three years (2) of clinical practice experience, required.
- Additional skills include multi-line telephone knowledge, computer knowledge, ability to operate designated equipment, effective communication in English, ability to function independently, and basic knowledge of medical record content and sequence.
