About the role
The Audiologist is responsible for the diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of hearing and balance disorders for patients of all ages. The Audiologist provides professional and personalized services and treatments to minimize the negative impact of these disorders, leading to improved outcomes and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hearing evaluations for pediatric and adult patients, assessing patient history, medical diagnosis, social, and communicative condition through testing and interview to establish a basis for treatment.
- Understand otologic and neurological diagnostic processes to obtain audiological information that helps physicians distinguish between competing etiological entities.
- Generate timely, clear, and succinct written communications for treating physicians.
- Understand the theory behind established clinical protocols and modify diagnostic procedures to meet patient needs without sacrificing test reliability or validity.
- Provide services with a caring, empathetic manner, adhering to the highest professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Interpret hearing evaluation data within the context of the patient’s perceptual, social, and communicative needs.
- Develop a rational treatment and monitoring plan with the patient and/or caregivers, including amplification, assistive listening devices, aural rehabilitation, and counseling as indicated.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree or equivalent.
- Current state licensure in Audiology.
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or the American Board of Audiology (ABA).
- Experience in an ENT or Allergy practice is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in audiological testing and diagnostic procedures.
