Summary
Will conduct Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans who file disability claims for hearing conditions (e.g., hearing loss, tinnitus, balance disorders) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program.

Pay Range: $101,192.00 - $119,192.00 / year

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Audiology accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHA
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- BLS certification from AHA, ARC, ASHI or willingness to obtain
- Full, active, unencumbered Audiology license in the US
Skills
- Completes age-appropriate audiology assessments and examinations for Military Veterans and qualified family members
- Identifies, tests, diagnoses, and manages disorders of human hearing, balance, and tinnitus
- Determines range, nature and degree of hearing function related to patient’s aural communication needs using electro-acoustic instrumentation
- Maintains accurate patient records noting appropriate background information, responses and progress
- Provides written reports and progress notes
- Identifies differential diagnosis
Responsibilities
- Completes diagnostic hearing evaluations on adult age populations, for purposes of Veteran’s disability exams
- Inputs Audiometric data into DBQ format, within 24 hours of exam, for disability rating purposes
- Provides a full medical record review with medical opinion noted in rationale when warranted
- Maintains a flexible working schedule in order to accommodate fluctuations in referral volumes, helping the company meet goals and objectives
- Mets credentialing requirements set forth by the VA

- Performs basic otoscopy
- Performs tympanometry
- Performs acoustic reflexes
- Performs speech audiometry via recording
- Performs pure tone audiometry
- Performs air + bone conduction
- Performs Stenger testing
- Removes wax-rarely
- No OAE's (oto-acoustic space emissions)
