About the Role

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / large-scale audiovisual systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and de-installation of AV products.
  • Configuration of endpoints and infrastructure.
  • Preparation of room audits ensuring technology can work at optimum level.
  • Performs preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and room is ready for use.
  • Identifies defective/failed equipment and provides solutions.
  • Completion of Post Installation Assessments.
  • Performs on-site User Acceptance testing.
  • Installs software upgrades.
  • Communicates with management team throughout the day, as it relates to assignments.
  • Project reporting and updating.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
  • Design, plan, and install AV systems.
  • Provide AV installation project oversight and updates.
  • Inventory AV devices and materials intended for installation.
  • Test and verify functionality of newly installed AV systems.
  • Perform AV system maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Other relative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • No experience to limited experience.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools to perform assigned job site tasks.
  • Understanding of safety as it relates to each division and the use of appropriate safety measures in daily tasks.
  • Punctuality and consistent daily attendance.
  • Demonstrated ability to ask applicable questions and willingness to learn new skills.
  • OSHA 10 Current and valid US driver’s license.
  • At least 0 years of experience in similar position.

Qualifications

  • Ability to terminate and test category cable and fiber optic cable.
  • Basic knowledge of low voltage principles (ohm’s law, load calculations, metering, etc.).
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, line diagrams and specifications.
  • Ability and willingness to serve as a mentor for Installers and/or junior Field Technicians.
  • Work closely with lead technicians, project managers and team members to ensure successful delivery of excellence within budget.

Physical Demands

  • Spend more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching.
  • Spend approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing.
  • Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Work environment conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
  • Subject to frequent heavy lifting.
  • May require driving to project sites.
  • May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
