Audio Visual Technician

About the role

Winchester School of Art is one of the UK’s leading Art Schools and part of the world-renowned University of Southampton, a founder member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities. This role involves working with students at undergraduate and postgraduate level across all programmes in the School as a key part of the existing Technical Services team.

You will oversee the Media Stores Facility and support and advise students and staff in their requests for equipment loans. Additionally, you will deliver support and technical instruction in the use of specialist cameras, audio-visual equipment, and facilities.

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of industry-level equipment, an aptitude for problem-solving, and the ability to assist students in realizing their projects. You should be an effective communicator with strong organizational and creative skills, guiding students to reach their potential.

Specialist knowledge and understanding of race, multiculturalism, and diversity are essential, as you will communicate with a diverse range of individuals from varying backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Media Stores Facility and manage equipment loans for students and staff.
• Provide support and technical instruction on specialist cameras and audio-visual equipment.
• Assist students in realizing their projects through problem-solving and guidance.
• Stay updated with technological advances in relevant equipment and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, fostering an inclusive environment.
