About the role

The Audio Visual (AV) Systems Lead is responsible for serving as the technical owner of the firm’s AV equipment and back-end AV systems, ensuring overall system health, reliability, and effectiveness across all offices and AV support needs. This independent contributor role provides advanced technical support for complex AV and video conferencing issues, including Level II troubleshooting and escalation support.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical owner for the firm’s AV equipment and back-end AV systems, monitoring overall system health, availability, and effectiveness across all offices.
  • Provide Level II support for complex AV, video conferencing, and collaboration technology issues, including advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for problem cases.
  • Troubleshoot displays, projectors, control systems, audio DSPs, microphones, cameras, video conferencing systems, audio conferencing systems, and related AV technologies.
  • Oversee vendor service calls, repairs, and preventative maintenance visits in accordance with existing firm contracts and service expectations.
  • Partner with AV Specialists and IT colleagues to resolve escalated issues, identify root causes, and support consistent AV service delivery across offices.
  • Maintain and recommend firmwide AV standards, documentation, support procedures, and technical practices that promote consistent system performance and user experience.
  • Conduct ongoing review of current AV systems, equipment, and back-end technologies to assess performance, reliability, scalability, and alignment with firm needs; identify when systems have been outgrown or require changes, upgrades, or replacement.
  • Monitor external AV, video conferencing, cloud calling, and collaboration technology trends and vendor offerings; surface relevant options, recommendations, and business cases that may improve firmwide AV capabilities, service delivery, or user experience.
  • Track recurring issues, system performance concerns, and equipment reliability trends; recommend corrective actions, lifecycle planning, or replacement needs as appropriate.
  • Support executive, client, and high-priority meetings as needed where advanced technical AV support or complex video conferencing expertise is required.
  • Promote and adhere to change management policies and procedures when implementing AV system changes, updates, or vendor-supported work.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging AV, video conferencing, cloud calling, and collaboration technologies through training, professional resources, and industry certifications.
  • Work independently and reliably with strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.
  • Support events, maintenance work, or urgent AV needs as required, including potential off-hours work schedules if required.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with AV systems, video conferencing platforms, and collaboration technologies supporting firm meetings and events across office-based and remote environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, and Zoom applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of SIP standards, cloud calling, and networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Strong knowledge of AV and video conferencing technologies, including displays, projectors, control systems, audio DSPs, microphones, cameras, audio conferencing systems, and video conferencing systems.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technology issues, identify root causes, coordinate appropriate escalations, and drive timely resolution.
  • Ability to document technical procedures, recurring issues, recommended standards, and system health concerns clearly and accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to attorneys, staff, vendors, and stakeholders in a clear, non-technical manner.
  • Strong client service mindset and ability to remain calm, responsive, and solutions-oriented when supporting high-priority meetings or urgent technical issues.
  • Able to manage competing priorities, work independently, and take proactive or corrective action within established guidelines.
  • Able to lift, bend, kneel, and reach, as well as lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum seven (7) years of audio-visual support experience, including experience troubleshooting complex AV and video conferencing issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco telepresence platforms and infrastructure products, Cisco UCM, Cisco TMS, Polycom codecs, cloud calling platforms, AV control systems, audio DSPs, and enterprise AV monitoring or management tools is strongly desired.

Pay

Hiring Salary Range $115,000.00 - $135,000.00
