About the Role
The AV Field Engineer specializes in troubleshooting, servicing, configuring, and commissioning complex audiovisual systems in various environments. They collaborate with project teams, clients, and technical staff to ensure optimal system installation, configuration, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose AV equipment and system issues.
- Test components, verify connections, and ensure installation quality.
- Create and review technical drawings, signal flow diagrams, and system layouts.
- Support system design validation, redesign, and change orders.
- Manage multiple projects, supporting technical and timeline requirements.
- Configure and troubleshoot control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC), DSP platforms (Biamp, Q-SYS), and video conferencing systems (Cisco, Polycom).
- Tune audio systems for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with IT teams on network integration.
- Support system programming, configuration, and commissioning.
- Assist in project documentation, punch lists, and client demonstrations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial AV systems.
- Proficiency with control systems, DSP configuration, and video conferencing setups.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of networking, VLANs, and troubleshooting complex audio systems.
- Self-motivated, professional, and able to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Ability to travel within regional project areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience commissioning large-scale commercial AV deployments.
