Audio Engineer 2

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Audio Engineer 2 at Garmin's Miramar/South Florida site. In this role, you will be responsible for developing moderately complex loudspeaker solutions and utilizing CAD or Simulation software to model loudspeaker parts, test and validate, complete technology explorations and/or deliver to mass production. Location: Garmin Cochrane site; eligible for registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in Alberta.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Electrical Engineers, Industrial Designers, and Process Engineers to negotiate basic tradeoffs between manufacturing, appearance, and performance
• Communicate effectively with vendors that produce custom mechanical parts as required
• Possess knowledge of injection molding, die casting, sheet metal stamping, vacuum forming, machining processes, etc.
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preferred part materials for basic part production and performance
• Demonstrate familiarity with industry and Garmin product qualification tests (environmental and others)
