About the role

Pristinely situated in the Piedmont's Red Clay Valley, Auburn Valley State Park invites visitors to explore the history of the Marshall Family, delve into Yorklyn's industrial heritage, and witness the revitalization of this site.

Responsibilities

- Assisting maintenance staff with all aspects of maintaining park grounds and facilities. - Tasks include mowing grass, weeding and mulching landscape beds, pruning/trimming, picking up and removing trash, cleaning restrooms, repairing structures, and participating in carpentry and welding projects. - Outdoor work involves operating light duty equipment like trucks, tractors, mowers, and lawn equipment. - Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

- At least 18 years of age. - Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools (grounds only). - Valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled).

Qualifications

Essential functions include: - Grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, athletic field maintenance, landscape bed maintenance, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal, and snow/ice removal. - Custodial services in restrooms, offices, and other buildings. - Providing customer services by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs, and complaints, and offering information about the park and surrounding areas. - Demonstrating responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills. - Maintaining a positive attitude.

Skills

- Ability to operate light duty equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, and lawn equipment. - Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Benefits

This is a Casual/Seasonal position without healthcare or other benefits.
