Essential Duties

  • Performs legal research and prepares cases for trial or non-trial disposition as deemed appropriate.
  • Prepares, drafts, reviews, revises and approves search warrants, arrest warrants, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Works with law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations to guide and assist the on-going investigation.
  • Prepares and presents witnesses and evidence to a county wide Grand Jury.
  • Evaluates criminal cases for appropriate disposition and reviews dispositions proposed by subordinate attorneys in the office.
  • Prepares and presents misdemeanor and felony cases for jury trial.
  • Supervises, mentors, advises, and assists subordinate attorneys as needed.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
  • Education/Experience:
    • Juris Doctorate (J.D.).
    • Member in good standing of the PA Bar.
    • At least 5 years of experience as a trial attorney; including jury and non-jury trials.
