Attorney III

About the role

The reporting location for this position is California Natural Resources Agency Building located at 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Under general direction of the Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel, the Attorney III will support the Electrical Infrastructure Directorate's Safety Policy Division and will provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues regarding electrical corporations. The Attorney III will work collaboratively with an Attorney IV who may serve as lead counsel on projects in which the Attorney III and Attorney IV are jointly working. Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues regarding electrical corporations
• Review and provide legal advice on Wildfire Mitigation Plans
• Work collaboratively with an Attorney IV on jointly assigned projects

Qualifications

• Experience of post-JD litigation of administrative cases with responsibility for all aspects of discovery, trial, settlement negotiations, and appeals; or pre-JD course work covering administrative litigation
• Experience advising a government agency or other organization and developing subject matter expertise in a variety of complex subjects
• Strong ability to analyze complex legal and factual issues, write clearly and persuasively, and exercise fair and sound judgment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
