Attorney III
About the Role
This position is eligible to telework up to four (4) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders.
The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Responsibilities
- Handles difficult and complex assignments on important and sensitive matters.
- Provides advice and counsel to DGS staff and other state agency staff pertaining to state contracting, procurement, and administrative matters.
- Promotes and is accountable for customer satisfaction and quality legal services.
- May act in a lead capacity but does not supervise other attorneys.

ATTORNEY III Required Skills
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property matters;
- Strong ability in legal research and analysis;
- Ability to quickly grasp legal concepts in multiple or new areas of law;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle multiple assignments at once.

Pay and Benefits
Pay range and compensation package: $10,852.00 - $15,325.00
A New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
