Duties

  • Write appellate briefs
  • Represent the State of South Dakota in administrative and circuit court hearings
  • Provide general counsel services to licensing boards

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited law school
  • Member of the South Dakota State Bar or willing and qualified to become a member
  • Passionate about serving the public
  • Motivated and dedicated

  • High standards of ethical conduct
  • Ability to analyze information and make logical interpretations
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Qualifications

  • Experience in a variety of legal subjects related to child abuse and neglect, child support enforcement, professional licensing, open meetings and open records, child welfare agency licensing, Medicaid and other state/federal assistance programs, and behavioral health services.
