Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel and representation to clients facing foreclosure proceedings
- Advocate for clients in negotiations with lenders, mortgage servicers, and courts
- Assist clients in exploring foreclosure-prevention options, such as loan modifications, refinancing, or government programs
- Prepare and file legal documents related to foreclosure cases
- Educate clients about their legal rights and available resources
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to support clients' housing stability
- Stay informed about changes in foreclosure laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and client advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines
- Commitment to serving low-income or vulnerable populations
- Demonstrated professionalism and ethical standards
- Ability to appear in person at Nassau Supreme Court
