About the role

The Estate Planning team is part of our Wealth Solutions group, a dynamic team environment of professionals dedicated to providing and implementing planning strategies for our high-net-worth clients. For this role, we have a strong preference for candidates in the Bay Area, Orange County, or San Diego, as we anticipate this person will likely be in-office at least 1-2 days per month.

Responsibilities

  • Independently meet with wealth advisors, financial planners, and other members of the Wealth Solutions group to review, fund, and maintain estate plans.
  • Review and summarize existing estate planning documents, making recommendations for changes based on legal updates and family circumstances.
  • Answer general estate planning questions from clients and advisor teams.
  • Serve as an in-house estate planning resource for wealth management teams nationwide.
  • Stay current with estate, trust, and tax legislation nationwide.
  • Support business development through presentations and thought leadership publications, as needed.
  • Manage a service specialist, including overseeing day-to-day tasks, training, calendars, time management, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
  • Ability to interpret and convey complex estate planning topics to teams and clients.
  • 2-6 years of legal experience in estate planning preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Schedule

This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. At times, early or late hours may be required to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs. Non-exempt roles must record working time daily, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.

Working Conditions

This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace free of interruptions. Basic technology needs will be provided. Routinely involves sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.

Pay

Actual base pay within this range will be based on factors including geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible for incentive compensation.

Base Pay Range: $90,000 – $130,000 USD
