Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of motor vehicle accident matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal correspondence.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
- Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and conferences.
- Collaborate with clients, medical providers, experts, and insurance carriers.
- Review medical records, police reports, and other case-related documentation.
- Develop litigation strategies and prepare cases for trial when necessary.
- Maintain accurate case files and meet all court deadlines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience handling motor vehicle accident litigation.
- Strong knowledge of New York civil litigation procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with a legal team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with plaintiff or defense motor vehicle litigation.
- Trial preparation and deposition experience.
- Familiarity with case management software.
Pay
Competitive salary: $110,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience.
